Mice

I have been trying to deny it for a while, but I am sad to admit it, we have mice. Not just one or two, I'm pretty darn sure there's a small family living at my house. I've got my food pretty well packed up in the kitchen and now I'm on a mission! I'm going room by room scrubbing out, cleaning out and emptying every darn cabinet, nook and cranny I can get my hands on. This was what Lissy did when I got the whole cabinet emptied!

Right now I have a HUGE volume of little people clothes that I am prepared to get rid of. I wish there was a consignment sale right now. I will probably post a few things on ebay and I'll be sure to post links to the listings here, just in case anyone is interested.

Geoff is all concerned about the fact that the mice are mammals. I call BS. I threw a mom and her babies in the trash about a week ago and I know there are more in my home. I want them all gone! He won't let me use traps or bait to kill these things. I'm not worried about using them in controlled places; cabinets, behind cabinets, etc. But such it is.

 My winter break plans include creating countertops and nailing or screwing those darn suckers down onto the cabinets so that mice can't get in or out (and my counters look cool), finishing the trim for the half-wall in the kitchen, getting vent covers put on all the air vents in the dining room and kitchen and getting rid of as much extra stuff that is in our house as is humanly possible.

I'm hoping if I do all of these things that maybe the mice will get the idea that they are not welcome and will leave on their own. Either way, there is too much stuff in my house and I want to get it gone!

Daddy dressed Me!

One of the greatest highlights of my day, is getting pictures from my husband of our kiddos! Since he has the babies all day long, by himself, I don't always get to join in the fun of picking out cute clothes for our little babies!

Here are a few of the sweet pictures he has sent me over the past few weeks.

I really like this one of the babies sitting in the toddler chair together! It's a chair full of baby!!!

 

Geoff was really proud of this outfit, tie-dyed onsie, purple jacket and pink snuggly sweatpants...seriously, do these children get any cuter!?!?!?!?

Lissy is quite proud of her climbing abilities. I however, am loving these overalls! So far, she and Annie have each worn them and every time it is so cute!!!

 

I still love how cute she is in the peace sign tshirt and she (and the big kids) really enjoyed the challah Geoff made. It had a cream cheese filling rolled into it before the whole thing was braided into a round challah. Seriously, it was amazing.

And of course, who wouldn't love a child wearing a fabric headband. She looks like a hippie baby and it so cute!

I feel like I should be asking her when she's going to clean the toys up!

Happy Anniversary

It's now been officially 11 years since I married my husband. I don't know who is crazier, me or him for marrying me.

In the last 11 years, we have experienced the following craziness:

My mother's breast cancer, job changes (several), car changes (several), the birth of our first daughter, the birth of our first child, the insanity of 9/11, the death of Geoff's grandfather, lots of high school graduations, Geoff's brother's first child/daughter, Geoff's parents' divorce, the birth of our son, I finally graduate college, Geoff's brother's second child/daughter, people moving away, friends passing away, friends getting married, friends having baby, buying our first house, my first major car accident, I finally graduate college with my Bachelors, going through a crazy point in our marriage and nearly getting divorced, fertility issues, totaling my car on a deer, more fertility issues, my aunt passes away, graduating with my first Masters, my dad has cancer, even more fertility issues, being told we are not having any more children, first year teaching, surplussed...finding a new school, Geoff becomes a stay at home dad, We're having another baby?!?!, a new little girl!, surplussed...again, finding a new school....at WHITE STATION (my alma mater), graduating with my second Masters, accepted to the PhD program!, We're pregnant AGAIN!?!?!?, the passing of Geoff's grandmother, buying a new car, my mother has cancer, Geoff graduates!, the passing of my mother, mommy's funeral, the death of one of our pets, trip to Puerto Rico, loosing my contract, welcoming baby #4, new school!, the death of another pet, accepted to the Leadership PhD program, Lissy Jane goes to school!....and life just keeps going.

It seems like more when it's in a list, but at the same time it feels like it's not as much. I could never imagine all of these things happening in the last 11 years, but I know that I couldn't have survived it without my husband by my side. He is an incredible man and a wonderful husband and a a great father and daddy. I love that he is the man I am married to and I wouldn't change it for the world!
